Judicial rulings in Dominican Republic and security funding in Valencia

In the Dominican Republic, a ruling by the Civil and Commercial Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the Santiago Judicial Department has addressed the disciplinary jurisdiction over notaries. The court decided to depart from previous criteria that required disciplinary actions to be processed through the Dominican College of Notaries before reaching judicial authorities. The court interpreted Law No. 140-15 on Notary Law in light of the fundamental right to effective judicial protection, determining that the College's role in supervision does not make its intervention a mandatory prerequisite for accessing the competent judicial jurisdiction.

In Spain, the Diputación de Valencia has initiated a collaboration with the General Directorate of the Guardia Civil and various local town halls to fund the repair and conservation of Guardia Civil barracks. Between 2024 and 2026, the provincial government has allocated over 1.2 million euros to these modernization projects. The initiative aims to improve living conditions for personnel and enhance public security services in municipalities where barracks have faced neglect.
