Judicial Service Commission launches court digitalisation in Zimbabwe
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched the digitalisation of the Beatrice Magistrates Court as part of Phase 4 of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS). This initiative aims to improve judicial efficiency and reduce corruption by allowing cases to be tracked electronically, making delays or malpractices easier to detect.
Following the Beatrice rollout, the JSC plans to digitalise courts in Harare and Bulawayo by the end of the year. The system will allow residents in Beatrice and the surrounding Chikomba area to remotely access the High Court, Civil Court, Labour Court, and Constitutional Court. However, accused persons in criminal matters must still appear physically in court. Individuals without smart devices will receive assistance from court officers to register and file documentation.
