Judicial Watch Moves to Unseal DOJ Search Warrant Records Targeting Victoria Toensing

Judicial Watch and former Trump attorney Victoria Toensing have filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York seeking to unseal materials related to three search warrants. The warrants, issued on November 4 2019 (iCloud account), December 13 2019 (Gmail account) and April 28 2021 (cell phone), were executed after President Biden took office. A separate April 22 2021 warrant from the District of Maryland authorized agents to search Toensing’s Maryland home, seize her cell phone and iPad, and compel her to unlock the devices.

The sealed documents include the warrants, applications, affidavits and related records. Toensing, a former federal prosecutor and senior intelligence committee counsel, says she has never been charged or informed of the reasons for the searches. Judicial Watch argues that the public’s right to understand potential politicization of federal law‑enforcement agencies outweighs any confidentiality concerns.
