Judicial Watch sues DOJ for Robert Mueller records

Government watchdog Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit in a Washington federal court seeking the Department of Justice’s files on former FBI director and special counsel Robert Mueller. The suit was launched after the DOJ declined to provide the requested documents. Judicial Watch says the records include material on the FBI’s expanded domestic surveillance powers under the USA PATRIOT Act and on Mueller’s two‑year investigation into alleged Trump‑Russia collusion, which concluded that the campaign did not conspire with Russia. The filing also references later findings by special counsel John Durham that the FBI’s handling of the “Crossfire Hurricane” probe fell short of legal standards. Mueller died earlier this year, and the lawsuit aims to make his government‑held records public.
