Judy Austin files N1 billion lawsuits against Rita Edochie and ex-husband

Nollywood actress Judy Austin has initiated multiple legal actions involving her personal relationships. She has filed a N1 billion defamation lawsuit against veteran actress Rita Edochie at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja. Austin alleges that Edochie has made repeated defamatory and malicious statements against her. The suit seeks N1 billion in general damages, a full retraction and apology in national newspapers and on social media, the removal of defamatory content online, and N50 million in legal costs.

In response, Rita Edochie has challenged the validity of Austin’s claims regarding her marital status, urging her to present a marriage certificate to justify being addressed as Mrs. Yul Edochie.

Separately, Austin has also filed a N1 billion lawsuit against her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, for alleged defamatory and malicious conduct. Obasi has publicly reacted to the suit, stating that the legal action will not prevent him from seeking access to his children and asserting that he will continue to speak about his experiences.
