Judy Sheindlin announces retirement and new show with son

Judy Sheindlin, widely known as Judge Judy, is retiring from on-camera work at age 83. Her departure follows the conclusion of her Prime Video series, ‘Judy Justice’, next month.

Sheindlin will transition into new projects, including the development of ‘Judyverse’, an adult animated series based on viral ‘Baby Judge Judy’ videos. Additionally, she will produce ‘Adam’s Law’, a new syndicated court show featuring her son, Adam Levy. The program is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September 14.

Adam Levy, a Hofstra Law School graduate, will preside over small-claims cases in the new series. Levy previously worked as a district attorney in Putnam County, New York. He shared that his career path was significantly influenced by his mother, who once accepted a job offer from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office on his behalf after he had planned to spend a year working as a ski instructor.
