Judy Sheindlin announces television retirement and successor

Judy Sheindlin, the television personality known as ‘Judge Judy’, has announced her retirement from on-camera roles. Following the conclusion of her Prime Video series ‘Judy Justice’ in October, Sheindlin will transition to a role as an executive producer.

Sheindlin has named her son, Adam Levy, as her successor. Levy, a graduate of Hofstra Law School and former District Attorney of Putnam County, will lead the new courtroom program ‘Adam’s Law’, which Sheindlin created.

While Sheindlin moves away from being the on-screen talent, her original series continues to maintain a significant presence on linear television. Since 2022, reruns of the original ‘Judge Judy’ series have generated approximately 16.8 billion ad impressions and an estimated $160 million in ad spend through networks like CBS.
