Judy Sheindlin retires, passes television legacy to son Adam Levy
Judy Sheindlin, known globally as ‘Judge Judy’, is retiring from her long-standing television career at age 83. She is transitioning her role to her son, Adam Levy, who has taken the bench on the new syndicated reality court series ‘Adam’s Law’. The program is created by Sheindlin and executive produced through her company, Queen Bee Productions.
Levy shared that his mother provided blunt advice before the transition, telling him to ‘be true to yourself’ and ‘don’t screw this up’. Levy, who previously presided over Prime Video’s ‘Tribunal Justice’ and ‘Justice on Trial’, admitted to feeling pressure to uphold his mother’s legacy and concerns regarding being labeled a ‘nepo baby’.
In addition to career updates, Sheindlin has opened up about her personal life and her 50-year relationship with her husband, Jerry Sheindlin. She described him as supportive and respectful of her intellect, noting that they have remained close since their marriage in 1977, despite a brief divorce in 1990.
