Juiz de Fora appoints new president for municipal health plan agency

Mayor Margarida Salomão has appointed Fernando Farinelli as the president of the Autarquia Gestora do Programa de Saúde dos Servidores (AGPSS) in Juiz de Fora. The agency is responsible for the co-management of the municipal public employees' health program (PASEPM).

Under new legislation, the health plan will operate as an entity with administrative, financial, and patrimonial autonomy. To ensure financial stability, a Technical Reserve Fund has been established, alongside a Special Regularization Fund intended to address a debt of approximately R$ 24 million owed to health service providers.

The new regulations also set limits on user co-participation, capping it at 30% for outpatient procedures. Co-participation is prohibited for hospitalizations, surgeries, oncological treatments, and other hospital-based procedures. Participation in the program remains voluntary for municipal employees and their dependents.
