Jujutsu Kaisen launches new stage play in Japan and hits 1.5 million Netflix views in US
A fifth theatrical adaptation of the popular anime franchise Jujutsu Kaisen, titled “Stage Jujutsu Kaisen – Shibuya Incident Part 1,” is scheduled to open in Japan in November 2026. The production adapts the iconic Shibuya Incident arc and features a 26‑member cast led by Ryuji Sato as Yuji Itadori, with Ryōsuke Miura as Satoru Gojo and other actors portraying key characters. Directed by Kensaku Kobayashi and scripted by Kohei Kiyasu, the play continues the annual tradition of stage versions that began in 2022.
In the United States, Netflix added Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 to its library on July 23 2026. Within the first few days, the season recorded over 1.5 million views, placing the series in the global top‑10 non‑English shows chart. The addition coincided with the franchise’s fifth‑anniversary celebrations, including a Juju Fest event slated for August 29‑30. While a release window for Season 4 remains unannounced, the series is expected to conclude the Culling Game arc.
