Jujuy and UN Women partner on gender violence prevention

The Government of Jujuy is collaborating with UN Women Argentina to strengthen territorial protection mechanisms and prevent gender-based violence. Provincial authorities met with UN Women representative Verónica Baracat to discuss the Provincial Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Gender Violence and Diversity 2026-2028.

The plan focuses on three primary pillars: violence prevention, violence response, and economic autonomy. A specific initiative aims to support women in the mining sector by conducting diagnostics to identify barriers and opportunities within local communities, particularly regarding indigenous populations in the Puna region.
