Jujuy deploys security for Río Blanco pilgrimage
The government of Jujuy has launched a comprehensive security and assistance operation for the pilgrimage to the sanctuaries of the Virgin of Río Blanco and Paypaya. This religious event is one of the largest in the province due to its significant religious following and scale.
Following two months of collaborative planning between the provincial executive, the Sanctuary, and the municipality of Palpalá, the operation focuses on immediate assistance and continuous accompaniment. Ariel Mamaní, the general director of Emergencies in Jujuy, stated that strategic deployment points have been established to provide support at various access routes to the sanctuary.
To ensure safety, authorities have deployed 200 police officers in the area, led by Commissioner Major Marcelo Gareca. Officials have also advised pilgrims to monitor weather forecasts to prevent issues during their walk.
