Jujuy advances Phase 2 of Cauchari-Olaroz lithium project

Jujuy Governor Carlos Sadir met with representatives from EXAR to advance Phase 2 of the Cauchari-Olaroz project. This new stage aims to expand lithium carbonate production through significant investments facilitated by the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI).

Key participants in the discussions included Li Liangbin of Ganfeng Lithium, Sam Pigott of Lithium Americas Corp., Mining Minister José Gómez, and JEMSE President Exequiel Lello Ivacevich. The provincial government has emphasized that the expansion will prioritize the hiring of local labor and the use of regional suppliers to ensure the mining growth benefits the local economy.

Minister José Gómez noted that the project represents a major step for the province, anticipating further large-scale investments from EXAR to consolidate Jujuy’s position in the lithium sector.
