Jujuy Federal Court rejects Celeste y Blanca List 2 in PJ internal elections

Federal Judge Esteban Eduardo Hansen has upheld the exclusion of the Celeste y Blanca List No. 2 from the internal elections of the Justicialist Party (PJ) in Jujuy, Argentina. The ruling confirms a previous resolution that rejected the list following a detailed review ordered by the National Electoral Chamber.

The court determined that the corrections submitted by the group exceeded the scope of permitted rectifications. Instead of fixing existing errors, the group attempted to present a new set of candidates, which is not allowed under the current electoral timeline. The judge noted that while a 12-hour exceptional window was granted to correct omissions, this did not authorize the submission of entirely new nominations.

Investigations revealed significant irregularities within the filings, including candidates lacking party affiliation or required seniority, duplicate candidacies for both primary and substitute roles, missing signatures from proxies, and incorrect identification numbers. Additionally, several departments, including San Pedro, Ledesma, and Santa Catalina, failed to provide necessary physical documentation.
