Jujuy Governor seeks inclusion of railway branches in Belgrano Cargas tender

Jujuy Governor Carlos Sadir met with representatives from the Colegio de Ingenieros de Jujuy (CIJ) and the Foro de Ingeniería del NOA to discuss the recovery and maintenance of the C14 and C15 railway branches. The primary goal is to ensure these specific lines are included in the upcoming Belgrano Cargas bidding process.

Engineers warned that current tender specifications omit key sections connecting Jujuy and Salta. This omission could prevent future concessionaires from being contractually obligated to maintain these tracks. The initiative aims to strengthen regional connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and support the mining and agricultural sectors within the framework of the Bioceanic Corridor.

A 30-day deadline has been established to submit a technical proposal to the national government. The province also intends to coordinate a joint position with other provinces in the Norte Grande region to address these infrastructure needs.
