Jujuy Health Ministry Reports Plateau in Flu Cases, Total Respiratory Infections Reach 596

Jujuy's health ministry announced that the surge of respiratory illnesses has leveled off after a recent peak. The province confirmed 533 cases of influenza A (H3N2), and when combined with diagnosed COVID‑19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases, the total number of reported respiratory infections stands at 596.

Thirty‑three active COVID‑19 cases were detected through sentinel health units. Officials said the current epidemiological situation matches the expected seasonal pattern, with the worst period of the winter wave now behind. The decline is attributed to the ongoing influenza vaccination campaign and preventive measures adopted by the public.

The ministry recommends continued caution: avoid crowded places if symptomatic, maintain frequent hand washing, wear a mask when ill, and keep indoor spaces well ventilated. With July and August bringing warmer temperatures, officials expect a natural further reduction in winter‑related respiratory illnesses.
