Jujuy identifies 84 critical points due to El Niño weather forecasts

The Jujuy Water Resources Directorate has identified 84 vulnerable locations across the province due to the El Niño phenomenon. The climate forecast predicts a combination of intense rainfall in the Valles, Yungas, and Quebrada regions, alongside a period of drought in the Puna region.

Director Edgardo Sosa stated that the probability of these weather events has risen to 100%. Authorities have intensified field operations, including doubling teams in the Puna to prepare water sources for the expected drought. Heavy rains are projected to begin in September and October, with peak storm intensity expected between late December and March.
