Jujuy infrastructure: New lighting in Huacalera and debate over road project debt

In Jujuy, Argentina, provincial authorities and legislators are addressing infrastructure developments and the associated financing on National Route 9. Governor Carlos Sadir inaugurated a new 1.5-kilometer lighting project in Huacalera. The initiative aims to improve road safety and support the growing tourism sector in the Quebrada region by enhancing connectivity and local conditions.

Simultaneously, a legislative debate has emerged regarding the $85 million debt intended for a multi-track project on National Route 9, connecting the bus terminal to the junction with Route 8 near Los Alisos. Deputy Ramón Neyra of the Frente Jujuy Crece defended the expenditure against criticisms from legislator Kevyn Ballesty. Neyra argued that the project's cost includes essential financial components beyond basic construction, such as structuring commissions, insurance, guarantee funds, administrative costs from multilateral organisms, and provisions for inflation-related price adjustments.
