Jujuy Legislature addresses teacher protection and student engagement

In the Jujuy Legislature, provincial deputies are addressing educational and social issues through both legislative proposals and community engagement. Deputy Federico Canedi has introduced a bill aimed at protecting teachers, administrators, and non-teaching staff from school-related violence. The proposal seeks to provide free legal counsel through the Public Defender's Office and introduces stricter penalties, including fines and potential arrest, for those who harass or physically assault educators. The bill also aims to hold aggressors financially responsible for property damage.

Separately, deputies Adriano Morone, Martín Fellner, and María Fernanda Checa Monaldi hosted students from the EMDEI Secondary School for an exchange regarding the legislative process. During the session, students discussed current public agenda items, including artificial intelligence and alcohol consumption. Legislators indicated they would evaluate student proposals for potential incorporation into future legislative projects.
