Jujuy municipalities to issue livestock certificates locally

The Ministry of Economic Development and Production of Jujuy has signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement with the municipalities of Humahuaca and Tilcara to decentralize the issuance of livestock transit and transfer certificates.

Under the agreement, the Office of Marks and Signals has authorized both municipalities to intervene in the procedure and directly issue certificates within their respective jurisdictions. This measure aims to reduce travel time and costs for local producers, who previously had to travel to the provincial capital, San Salvador de Jujuy, to complete these essential administrative tasks.

The decentralization includes a specific limitation: the local municipalities can only manage certificates for operations involving up to five head of livestock. For transfers exceeding this amount, producers must still complete the process at the central office in San Salvador de Jujuy.
