Jujuy Province tackles bus service disruption and stalled education project funding

The municipal government of San Salvador de Jujuy clarified the legal basis for an early takeover of public bus routes by the company Santa Ana after Union Bus halted service amid a labor dispute over unpaid wages. Municipal prosecutor Pablo Rodríguez emphasized that the move was not arbitrary, stating, "It is not a whim or an improvised decision, but an advance of a process already defined," and noted that Santa Ana was merely operating routes it had already been awarded in the latest public tender.

At the provincial level, the Jujuy Ministry of Education is pressing the national government to release pending funds for the INET Program 39, which supports technical and agrotécnic schools. Minister Daniela Teseira said the province had met all technical and financial documentation requirements, but delayed national disbursements left a debt of roughly ARS 199 million and a need for an additional ARS 219 million to complete the projects. The ministry has sent multiple formal requests to the INET director to regularize financing and avoid further interruption of the works.
