Jujuy to host conference on tropical diseases and regional health

The province of Jujuy will host the conference ‘Tropical Diseases: Challenges for Health in Northern Argentina’ on November 4 at the Cabildo. Organized by the Medicine Agency, the event features Dr. Hugo Luis Pizzi and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Mission for the Study of Argentine Regional Pathology (Mepra).

The conference will focus on the significance of tropical diseases for regional health, specifically examining how climate change and the tropicalization of the climate impact disease prevention, recognition, and management.

In conjunction with the implementation of the Medicine program at the National University of Jujuy (UNJu), the event aims to strengthen the connection between university training, research, and local territorial needs. It seeks to provide academic and health communities with a reflection on the challenges these diseases pose to healthcare teams and the training of future medical professionals.
