Jujuy to host international lithium seminar to boost local industry

The 15th edition of the International Seminar ‘Lithium in South America’ is scheduled to take place on October 7 and 8 in Jujuy, Argentina. The event, organized by Panorama Minero, expects over 2,000 attendees, including industry leaders, workers, and international experts such as Joe Lowry.

Exequiel Lello Ivacevich, president of Jujuy Energía y Minería Sociedad del Estado (JEMSE) and the South American Lithium Committee, noted that the sector is entering a recovery phase following previous difficulties with lithium prices. This recovery is expected to reactivate investments in the region.

Lello Ivacevich emphasized the province's commitment to local employment and industry through initiatives like ‘Compre Jujeño’ and local procurement schemes in the Northwest Argentina (NOA) region, which includes Jujuy, Salta, and Catamarca. The seminar aims to strengthen Jujuy's position in the international mining market while generating economic and tourism benefits for the territory.
