Jujuy updates protocols to sanction workplace violence in public administration

The government of Jujuy has updated its Protocol of Action for the Prevention and Eradication of Workplace Violence. Through a new institutional cooperation agreement between the Secretariat of Labor and Employment and the Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Finance, public employees and officials can now face disciplinary sanctions for committing workplace violence.

Previously, procedures often resulted only in recommendations. Under the updated framework, which utilizes Law 3161 (the Statute of Personnel of the Public Administration of Jujuy), proven instances of violence will lead to formal sanctions. The measures apply to all public agents regardless of their hierarchy, contractual modality, or position.

The initiative aims to foster healthy and respectful work environments. It includes assistance and guidance for those reporting violence, the implementation of case monitoring mechanisms, preventive measures, and mandatory training programs. Municipalities within the province are also expected to adhere to this new framework.
