Jules Koundé faces positional shift at FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has reportedly informed Jules Koundé that he will no longer be the club's primary starting right-back. The decision stems from Flick's preference for Eric Garcia to occupy that position, a move that has already seen Garcia start in the opening match of La Liga.
Koundé is expected to transition back to his more natural role as a centre-back. While he remains a versatile defensive option, reports suggest he may initially serve as a backup in the central defense, potentially competing with players like Pau Cubarsí, Andreas Christensen, and Gerard Martín.
Despite recent speculation regarding his future at the club due to defensive inconsistencies, Koundé has expressed a desire to stay at Barcelona. However, some reports indicate the club may be open to a sale if a significant offer, potentially around €60 million, is received.
