Julia Deck wins the 2026 Lattes Grinzane Prize

French writer Julia Deck has won the 16th edition of the Lattes Grinzane Prize for her novel ‘Ann d’Inghilterra’ (published by Adelphi). The international award, organized by the Fondazione Bottari Lattes, recognizes the best works of fiction published in the last year, featuring both Italian and foreign authors.

The winner was determined by 400 students from 25 different educational institutions, including one high school from Avignon, France. The technical jury, chaired by Loredana Lipperini, had previously selected the finalists.

Other finalists included Mathias Enard, Andrew Miller, Andrew Porter, and Clara Usón. The ceremony, held at the Teatro Sociale G. Busca in Alba, Italy, also honored renowned Indian author Amitav Ghosh with a Special Prize.
