Julia Fischer performs at Neuschwanstein Castle

Violinist Julia Fischer opened the Neuschwanstein Summer Concerts this past July, performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major in the courtyard of Neuschwanstein Castle. The performance featured the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under the musical direction of Omer Meir Wellber.

The event, described as taking place against a “breathtakingly illuminated dream backdrop,” will be broadcast as a premiere on 3sat. Following the Fischer performance, the broadcast will include a recording of a concert featuring tenor Jonas Kaufmann and soprano Pretty Yende.
