Julia Scheib prepares for Ski World Cup season opener in Sölden
Austrian skier Julia Scheib is set to begin the Ski World Cup season in Sölden. Following a successful previous winter where she won five out of ten giant slalom races to secure the crystal globe, the 28-year-old faces a competitive field including Camille Rast, Sara Hector, Mikaela Shiffrin, Alice Robinson, and Paula Moltzan.
Group trainer Martin Sprenger noted significant development in Scheib over the summer, highlighting improved consistency and better ability to manage her technical limits. Scheib emphasized the need for precision on the Rettenbachferner course, particularly regarding the steep sections and the exit into flat stretches.
The Austrian team faces challenges as several competitors, including Stephanie Brunner, Nina Astner, and Katharina Liensberger, are absent from the season opener due to injuries.
