Julia Stiles addresses dance training and ‘Save the Last Dance’ body double

Actor Julia Stiles has addressed her lack of professional dance training following her casting in Season 35 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. While Stiles rose to fame in the 2001 film ‘Save the Last Dance’, she has clarified that she was not a trained dancer and utilized a body double for the film’s complex sequences.

Professional dancer Chryssie Whitehead, a Broadway performer and Rockette, has been identified as one of the dancers who doubled for Stiles in the film, specifically performing portions of the final audition sequence.

Additionally, The Juilliard School recently made a social media post noting that Stiles did not actually attend the conservatory, despite her character in ‘Save the Last Dance’ dreaming of attending the institution. Stiles and her ballroom partner, Ezra Sosa, reacted to the post, with Sosa describing the remark as “kind of shady, but honestly, really funny.”
