Julia Szeremeta defeated by Stanimira Pietrowa at European Championships

Olympic silver medalist Julia Szeremeta suffered a defeat in her debut at the European Boxing Championships in Sofia. Competing in the 57 kg category, the Polish boxer faced host nation representative Stanimira Pietrowa in the round of 16.

Szeremeta struggled early in the match, losing the first two rounds to the former world and European champion. Although the Polish athlete attempted to increase her aggression in the third round to close the point gap, she was unable to overcome the deficit. The judges' scorecards ultimately favored Pietrowa, ending Szeremeta's run in the tournament.
