Julia Szeremeta wins gold at Silesian International Women's Boxing Championships

Julia Szeremeta won the gold medal in the 57 kg category at the 21st Silesian International Women's Boxing Championships held in Gliwice, Poland. In a closely contested final, Szeremeta defeated Ireland's Niamh Fay by a split decision of 3:2.

Throughout the tournament, Szeremeta defeated Vilma Viitanen of Finland in the preliminaries and English champion Shassen Dutton in the semifinals. The championships, which concluded on August 29, featured approximately 200 female boxers from various countries across multiple age categories, including youth, cadets, juniors, and seniors.

Kazakhstan emerged as a highly successful nation in the U17 and U19 groups, securing 14 medals in total. The event was hosted by GUKS Carbo Gliwice in collaboration with the Polish Boxing Association and the Silesian Boxing Association.
