Juliaca pedagogical school faces admission irregularity allegations

Applicants at the Escuela de Educación Superior Pedagógica Pública de Juliaca have reported alleged irregularities regarding the institution's admission process. The claims stem from circulated messages that purportedly offer academic vacancies in various specialties in exchange for monetary payments.

According to the protesters, the alleged costs for these spots could reach up to S/5,000, depending on the specific field of study. While protesters presented chat conversations as evidence of these offers, the accusations have not yet been officially confirmed, and the authenticity of the messages requires formal investigation.

The situation led to tension outside the institution. While one group of protesters demanded the presence of the Ministerio Público to ensure transparency, another group argued that students who had already secured vacancies should be allowed to proceed with the evaluation. Despite the unrest and physical shoving, some students managed to enter the premises to continue their admission procedures.
