Juliaca preschool faces critical three-week water shortage

Students at the San Julián Preschool No. 611 in Juliaca have been without potable water for approximately three weeks. The shortage affects 82 children, impacting food preparation, utensil cleaning, restroom maintenance, and basic hygiene such as handwashing.

School director Victoria Marisol Canaza Quispe reported that while parents have been bringing small amounts of water to assist, the school's storage tanks are now empty. She criticized the current support from Seda Juliaca, noting that water truck deliveries have been insufficient because the water is often left in tanks located far from the classrooms.

The water crisis is not limited to the school; residents of the San Julián urban area are also facing shortages and have submitted a formal memorial to Seda Juliaca requesting improved service via water tankers.
