Juliaca and Cajamarca face infrastructure and governance challenges

In Juliaca, residents of the San Román province are calling on incoming municipal authorities to fulfill campaign promises. Following recent election results, citizens highlighted urgent needs regarding solid waste management, public security, and crime prevention. There are concerns that the Urban Development Plan (PDU) may not be completed by the current administration.

In Cajamarca, the administration of Joaquín Ramírez is concluding its four-year term with a mix of completed projects and significant pending issues. While investments were made in projects like Avenida San Martín, the city continues to face challenges with water shortages during dry seasons, traffic congestion, and informal commerce. Major infrastructure projects, such as the Chontay dam and the Óvalo Musical bypass, remain in the planning or early execution stages for future administrations.
