Juliaca's New Serenazgo Barracks Delivery Delayed by Contraloría Observations

The handover of the new municipal Serenazgo barracks in Juliaca remains without a set date because the Office of Institutional Control (OCI) of the Comptroller General raised technical and administrative observations during the verification process. Submanager Arturo Chávez Chávez explained that a municipal committee must complete its technical review and issue a formal act before the facilities can be officially received.

Chávez said the sub‑directorate has not yet taken formal possession of the building and that it is unclear whether the OCI’s observations have been fully addressed. He also noted there is no official information about any proposed transfer of part of the barracks to the Transport Agency. Meanwhile, Serenazgo personnel continue patrols with a fleet of 25 vehicles and are installing additional video‑surveillance cameras to improve public safety.
