Julian Alvarez identified as dream January signing for Arsenal

Former striker Jay Bothroyd has identified Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez as a primary target for Arsenal during the upcoming January transfer window. Bothroyd suggests that the Argentine international, who has struggled for consistent playing time at Atletico Madrid this season, would be an ideal fit for the Gunners due to his ability to play between defensive lines, operate in wide areas, and manufacture goals.

Bothroyd expressed dissatisfaction with Arsenal’s summer recruitment, specifically noting that the club’s pursuit of Alvarez was previously hindered by Atletico Madrid’s refusal to sell to Barcelona. He also critiqued the performance of Viktor Gyokeres, who joined Arsenal for £64 million from Sporting Lisbon but has struggled to secure a consistent starting role this term.
