Princess of Asturias Awards Julian Barnes Literature Prize Oviedo Princess of Asturias Foundation

British novelist Julian Barnes has arrived in Oviedo to receive the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature. He was greeted by a bagpipe performance from the 'La Laguna del Torollu' band upon his arrival at the Hotel de La Reconquista.

Barnes arrived accompanied by his wife, editor Rachel Cugnoni. During the reception, the award winner greeted Teresa Sanjurjo, the director of the Princess of Asturias Foundation. The award adds to Barnes's previous honors, which include the 2011 Booker Prize and the Prix Femina.
