Julian Erosa announces retirement following upcoming UFC fight

UFC featherweight veteran Julian Erosa has announced that his upcoming bout against Jeong Yeong Lee on October 31 at UFC Vegas 123 will be his final fight. The 37-year-old fighter stated that he needed to set a definitive date to prevent himself from continuing regardless of the outcome, noting that a victory would tempt him to stay and a defeat would trigger a desire for redemption.

Erosa, who has been with the UFC since 2015, cited fatherhood and the desire to prioritize his health and family as primary motivations for his decision. Following the fight, he plans to relocate from Las Vegas to Yakima, Washington, to assist with his mother’s business and live closer to his family.

Erosa enters the matchup following two consecutive losses, including a knockout defeat to Lerryan Douglas in March. His opponent, Jeong Yeong Lee, is also seeking to break a losing streak.
