Julian Sayin elected as Ohio State team captain

Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin has been elected as one of the team’s seven captains for the upcoming season. Following a Heisman Trophy finalist campaign last year, Sayin is expected to lead the Buckeyes as they prepare for their season opener against Ball State on September 5.

Teammates, including wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, have noted an increase in Sayin’s confidence and vocal leadership within the huddle. Sayin attributed his increased assertiveness to his familiarity with the veteran group and the experience gained from his previous season.

Head coach Ryan Day noted that the transition from learning plays to remembering them has bolstered Sayin’s confidence. Sayin is also adjusting to working under a new offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith.
