Julian Sayin expected to miss several weeks with arm injury

Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is expected to be sidelined for several weeks following an arm injury sustained during a 19-15 victory over Indiana. Sayin, a redshirt sophomore and team captain, exited the game in the fourth quarter after his right arm was pinned awkwardly while throwing.

Head coach Ryan Day confirmed the injury update, stating, “he’ll probably be out several weeks,” though the program has not yet released a specific diagnosis regarding whether the injury affects the shoulder or elbow. Sayin was having a highly productive season, including a fourth-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting last year.

The Buckeyes must now navigate their Big Ten schedule without their starting quarterback. While true freshman Luke Fahey is the presumed replacement, the coaching staff has not officially named a new starter.
