Julianne Moore receives Golden Icon Award at Zurich Film Festival

American actress Julianne Moore was honored with the Golden Icon Award for lifetime achievement at the 22nd Zurich Film Festival. In a surprise gesture, Moore delivered her acceptance speech in German.

Moore attributed her career path to her teenage years living in Germany, noting that a teacher there encouraged her acting ambitions. She remarked that without moving to Europe with her parents, she would not have pursued the life she has today.

Moore attended the ceremony accompanied by director Jesse Eisenberg, who is currently working with her on the musical comedy ‘The Debut’. The film, which is screening at the festival, also stars Paul Giamatti and follows a housewife who becomes a dedicated method actor.
