Juliano Ferro faces expulsion request after endorsing Senate candidate

Juliano Ferro, the mayor of Ivinhema, has announced his support for Reinaldo Azambuja and federal deputy Vander Loubet in the race for the two Senate seats in Mato Grosso do Sul. Ferro cited his political relationship with Loubet and the support Loubet has provided to Ivinhema during his terms as reasons for the endorsement.

This decision has caused internal friction within the Liberal Party (PL). State deputy Vivi Tobias has filed a request for Ferro's expulsion from the party, alleging party infidelity and claiming his support for Loubet contradicts the PL's electoral strategy. Ferro has denied these allegations, stating that as a mayor and not a candidate himself, he is not committing party infidelity and remains committed to his chosen candidates.
