Julie Makinen appointed CEO of Embarcadero Media Foundation
Julie Makinen has been named the new CEO and publisher of the Embarcadero Media Foundation, a nonprofit organization. The foundation manages several publications, including The Weekly, The Almanac, the Mountain View Voice, the Redwood City Pulse, and three sister publications in the East Bay.
Makinen brings extensive journalism experience to the role, having previously worked for the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the International New York Times. Her leadership background includes roles at The Desert Sun in Palm Springs and The San Francisco Standard.
