Julie Stewart-Binks reveals skin cancer diagnosis and surgery

Sports broadcaster Julie Stewart-Binks has revealed she underwent surgery to treat squamous cell carcinoma on her nose. The Toronto native, who currently works for the New York-based network SNY, disclosed her diagnosis after a two-week absence from television.

Stewart-Binks stated that she initially mistook the cancerous growth for a stubborn pimple. She underwent Mohs surgery to remove the tissue, followed by a reconstructive procedure that utilized a graft from her ear to repair the area.

She shared her experience on social media to encourage others to seek medical attention for unusual skin changes, noting, “I share this so that hopefully it inspires others to get checked if something feels/looks off.”
