Julien Alfred wins Zurich Diamond League 100m

Saint Lucian sprinter Julien Alfred secured a victory in the women’s 100m at the Zurich Diamond League meet, setting a new national record with a time of 10.70 seconds. Competing at Letzigrund Stadium before a crowd of 25,000, Alfred narrowly defeated American Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who finished just five-thousandths of a second behind her.

American Sha’Carri Richardson finished third in the race with a time of 10.97 seconds. This marked Richardson’s second consecutive third-place finish in the Diamond League, following a similar result in Silesia. Richardson expressed her frustration with the outcome but stated she is not giving up and is looking forward to her next competition in Brussels.
