ISSSTE increases surgical procedures at CMN 20 de Noviembre

The ISSSTE Director General, Martí Batres Guadarrama, reported an increase in surgical procedures at the Centro Médico Nacional (CMN) ‘20 de Noviembre’. Between January and August 2026, the facility performed 7,800 surgeries, up from 6,300 during the same period the previous year.

To support this growth, the hospital has implemented several modernization efforts, including the addition of new obstetric surgery operating rooms capable of handling up to 800 procedures annually. Other upgrades include renovated sterilization, post-surgical recovery, and isolation areas, as well as a new intensive care space. The facility has also integrated new technologies such as neuromuscular ultrasound, electrotherapy, and advanced laboratory equipment to improve diagnostic speed.
