Julieta Rodríguez presents immersive jungle-inspired textile installation

Textile artist Julieta Rodríguez presented ‘Selva Sentida’, an immersive textile installation inspired by the Misiones jungle, at the third edition of the UNE, Espacio Abierto – Ciudad Natural event in Posadas.

The work, described by Rodríguez as ‘soft architecture’, involved 400 hours of labor by the artist and a group of weavers. Using cotton threads and organic wool, the installation utilized techniques such as macramé, crochet, and knotting to create layers of textures, suspended networks, and descending volumes that mimic the organic structure of the jungle.

Rodríguez, who lived in Misiones until age 24, drew inspiration from sensory memories of the region, including the sound of cicadas, the red earth, and the dense greenery. The project aims to translate the essence of the jungle into an indoor space through visual poetry and textile language.
