Juliette Binoche stars in international film production on Lesvos

International film production ‘Thank You, Charlotte’ has begun filming on the Greek island of Lesvos. Directed by Turkish filmmaker Berkun Oya, the production is a co-production involving France, Germany, Greece, and Turkey.

Oscar-nominated French actress Juliette Binoche stars as Charlotte, a 61-year-old woman working as a volunteer for an NGO on the island. The plot follows her experiences and the values she grapples with following the arrival of a young refugee. The film uses Lesvos not merely as a backdrop but as a central setting, with filming locations including Mytilene, Skala Loutron, and Chrysi Ammo.

The Greek co-production is supported by Neda Film, and EKKOME has approved 100,000 euros in funding for the Greek minority co-production component.
