Julián Quiñones leads Al-Qadsiah to comeback victory

Mexican striker Julián Quiñones led Al-Qadsiah to a 3-1 comeback victory against Al-Shabab in the opening match of the 2026-2027 Saudi Pro League season.

After Al-Shabab took an early lead through Hammam Al-Hammami and Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat leveled the score before halftime, the match remained tied until the 80th minute. Quiñones scored the go-ahead goal with a right-footed finish following a cross from the left. He later provided an assist to Turki Al-Ammar during stoppage time to secure the win.

This performance follows Quiñones' standout participation in the 2026 World Cup with the Mexican national team. He enters the new season as a former league top scorer, having previously outperformed players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Ivan Toney.
