Julio Cortázar Contemporary Art Museum reopens in Managua

The Julio Cortázar Contemporary Art Museum has reopened in Managua, Nicaragua, following several years of closure due to building deterioration. The facility, located in the capital's center, was renovated to promote the conservation and protection of contemporary art.

The museum houses a collection of more than 2,100 works, including paintings, sculptures, serigraphs, engravings, photographs, and installations. Many of these pieces were donated by national and international artists, serving as a testament to international solidarity and cultural exchange.

Officials from the Institute of Cultures of Peoples and Youth (ICPJ) emphasized the importance of the museum as a space for artists, students, and families. The reopening coincides with the 112th anniversary of the birth of the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar, for whom the museum is named.
